Camping in the Shasta at Flanners Beach

Hello, this is my first post and I want to begin with my first camping trip this year in my 1971 Shasta 1400

As usual my traveling companion is my 17.5 lb bundle of black fur, my cat Alucard.

I try to go ASAP camping mostly in the National Parks since I have a discount card with that organization entitling me to half off camp fees
This time I checked into Flanners Beach Campground site 37 located between Havelock and New Bern, NC. I reserved 3 days online and total cost for 3 days was $41 ($9 reservation fee included). There are 40 sites total and 2 bathhouses available most of the time. Had only 1 open this trip (still early in season) and only one shower available. The water pressure was fantastic in that shower, best I have found in any campground so that was a plus! Grounds were neat and clean, electric at most sites except the waterfront sites which did not. Spring here provides dogwoods blooming, Cardinals and Blue Jays singing along with one sighting of a bat swooping by..yes, a bat!
Best paved trails for biking, some elevation to make it interesting but easy compared to most bike trails. I am a disabled adult and even I managed to bike it..
